Here, Huffington Post asks, "What is the ideal warm up?"
HuffPo, to their credit, doesn't look for the "ideal" warm up for every situation. Their answer is the right one: It depends. And, it's actually a nicely done article on the subject.
The answer is always "It depends." And, quite frankly, you don't need to choose the perfect anything. Health and fitness isn't about being perfect, it's about being good enough. (Actually, the tricky thing is being good enough at everything - exercise, diet, stress, sleep - but that's a topic for another day.) The body is great at adjusting for little twists and turns and day-to-day differences.
So, the next time you find yourself looking for the perfect whatever. Know two things:
- The answer will almost always be different based on the situation and the context.
- You really don't need to be "prefect." Instead, ask what options will get the job done.
Don't get it yet? Notice how vague the answers in the Huffington Post article are. You have lots of leeway here. You don't have to be "ideal." And that's a good thing.
